Our first morning in Beijing was a tiny bit chilly, which to the boys meant COLD. They are so sensitive to cold after living in Singapore for more than two years. It was a welcome change for Justin and me!
The first day, our plan was to visit Tiananmen Square and The Forbidden City. If you are unfamiliar with Tiananmen Square, you can read about it

Walking, walking...our hotel was close to Tiananmen Square and The Forbidden City, but it was probably a mile walk or so:

Boys hanging out in Tiananmen Square (those barricades are opened and the street closed for certain events, like National Day). The street you see there is the famous one where the events of June 3, 1989 took place, although our tour guide had no information about that to give us (shocking no one):
