A Few of My Favorite Things

Since the Christmas decorations are already up here, I decided to list a few of my favorite things..

Caleb's eyelashes. Everyone comments on them. Friends, doctors, strangers, everyone. Since he was a tiny baby that is the first thing people notice about him. :-)

Since I am left-handed, I have pen issues. I can't do gel or fountain pens usually because they end up all over my hand. And some pens I can't even write with because of the angle. It's weird. This is my current favorite pen. (I have an office supply "issue," too, as in I buy way too many. It's hereditary. My mom passed on that gene to me.)

Mmmm. Dr. Pepper. Until recently I was a Coke drinker, but Dr. Pepper is much easier on my stomach issues.

Strawberry and Satsuma Home Fragrance Oil from The Body Shop. Mix a few drops of each and a little water. Makes the place smell yummy!

My sweet Levi napping in his crib. He's such a good sleeper now, and we are so thankful!

Bad News & Good News

The bad news is that I dropped my camera tonight and it's not working. I'm hoping it's able to be fixed. *fingers crossed*

The good news is that when I signed up for cell service here in Singapore I got a really expensive phone for a not-so-expensive price (about 1/4 of the original price). That phone has a great camera and I'm able to upload from my phone to the computer. Ah, technology is great.

Here we are walking to dinner, and Caleb is giving his "face." It's pretty common these days. I love age 3.

"Singapore Litter Free" :-) It IS clean!

Here's where we're headed for dinner...The Newton Food Centre, aka "The Newton Hawker"

Here we are. This is one of the nicer food centers, and, therefore, more expensive. Our dinner was S$29 for three plates of food and 4 bottles of water. Not too bad, but expensive for local food.

Our yummy food..chicken fried rice, sweet & sour chicken, and fried buns (not pictured). Levi LOVES rice. Caleb is our picky eater and won't try anything that looks "suspicious." Once he takes a bite, he almost always likes it. Getting him to take a bite is hard work.
This is the stall where our food came from. What you can't see inside that little cage are live crabs. Fresh seafood, indeed!
And just for fun...Caleb asleep with his sock monkey. I was testing out the flash on my camera. :-)
Levi in the Baby Hawk baby carrier at the train station. I really need to get a Beco or Ergo Baby Carrier because this one ties on instead of snaps on and it's hard to get it right.

Could we just get a good family picture?

(notice how Caleb isn't bothered by our attempt to get a family photo...he's just enjoying his candy the whole time...)
Attempt 1:

Attempt 2:

Attempt 3:

Attempt 4: Result...no, we can't get a good picture!

When The Mommy Is Sick...

...the boys will get into everything. They found the water hose in the back yard yesterday while I was sick and trying to stay as close to the bed as possible. They were a little too quiet, and when I went to check on them, this is what I found. Obviously Levi is an innocent bystander in this situation. (Or maybe not a bystander but a victim since he is being sprayed with water.)

Notice how wet Levi's hair is and how dry Caleb's is...

Luckily I'm feeling somewhat better today and Caleb is at school. It's hard being the mom of two toddlers when you just want to lay in bed all day and not move!

PICTURES!!!

I got up at 5am to go to the gym and was back, dressed and ready for the day at 6:30. I've also done two lessons in my Bible study (I'm behind), had breakfast and coffee. It's only 8:30am; this is truly a record of some sort. It's amazing what I can get done if I get up early, i.e. before the kids. Let's hope this continues! I've realized that I AM the fat friend, so I'm on a quest to lose this awful "depression drug-induced" fat!

Anyway...on to the pictures!
Caleb's 3rd Birthday. He got to choose one present to open that morning. It was a backpack and matching lunchbox. Not very exciting for a 3-year-old, so he wanted another present. :-)
His family birthday party at GattiTown. Here he is with two of his presents...a bicycle helmet and Little Einsteins laptop...

Levi's First Birthday! I don't have a picture of him eating the cake (maybe my mom does), but here he is with pizza. :-)

Levi at Caleb's party...
Caleb had his party at an inflatable fun house. We combined his party with a friend of his whose birthday was the same week...same friends to invite, only one party to attend!

Here's Levi with his BFF, Caroline. She is two weeks older than him and both sets of parents would be fine if they grew up and married each other. :-) They're adorable!

Levi hiding BEHIND the entertainment center. He's going to be a handful!

I'll post soon the pictures from our cruise. If I can find any that don't involve me in a swimsuit that is!

Hurricane Ike

Well, I think most of you that still read this blog follow me on Facebook, so you know we're safe and finally have power restored. We went to my parent's house Saturday night and stayed through Tuesday, when we came back home. We thank God that we have a house left and we sustained very minimal damage. (I'm not sure my mom has forgiven me for staying through the storm and not evacuating to her house.)
I got a new camera, since Caleb destroyed my old one, and finally am able to upload pictures rather quickly. So, here's what we did this weekend...

Fun in a Box

Literally...

We're so tired around here. It's 8:21am, and Levi has been down for a nap since 7:45. Both boys were up for the day at 6am, and Levi was up eating twice during the night. I'm hoping it's a growth spurt!

We ALL had the stomach virus last week and over the holiday weekend. Not fun. I think we're finally over it, thank goodness. Now, if we could just get some sleep maybe we won't have a relapse!

Anatomy of a Photo Shoot

Trying to get two kids (or one husband) to cooperate for a picture is no easy task...

Gratuitous Pictures of the Kids

Here's a picture post, especially for the grandparents and The Daddy who's away. ;-)

Most of these were taken within the last month...I'm really behind on posting pictures, to which I'm sure Mimi will attest! :-)

(And even though Levi is wearing the same pajamas in several of the pictures, the top two pictures are from today and the ones near the bottom are from the middle of December.)

Brotherly love:

my brown-eyed boy (aka, the one that finally looks something like me)

Caleb saying, "cheese" and wearing his new Thomas sweatshirt

my sweet Caleb at Mimi's house for Christmas

me and my "chunky monkey" :-)

I could kiss those cheeks ALL day!

Sweet laughing

How can you resist this?
