Things I've Learned Recently

  • A little boy who misses his daddy will become very clingy to his mommy.
  • A second pregnancy can be much different emotionally than the first one.
  • My Aggies are not as invincible in basketball as we'd all like them to be. *sigh*
  • Having family around to help with Caleb and cooking is a wonderful rare treat!
  • My body seems to like the look of being pregnant and has decided that at almost 3 months pregnant I should look like I'm 6 months pregnant. I'm leaning toward the fact that I'm carrying twins, but I'm pretty sure that's not true. :-)
  • There's no joy like a toddler who says, "uh joo." (translation: love you)
  • Taking care of said super cute toddler while growing another child inside my body is not an easy thing.
  • If you have a septic tank (which my parents do) and it rains A LOT you might not be able to take a shower or flush the toilets for quite some time.
  • Driving around my hometown where there are fields and cows and OPEN LAND is so refreshing...quite a break from the concrete jungle of the big city!
  • If I forget to mention "GaGa" (Grandma) in Caleb's nightly prayer, he'll remind me.

But you're feeling better right? You sound as if you're on the upward swing.

And yes, it is VERY difficult to take care of a toddler while nurturing another one inside you. I found myself tired often! So I always said yes to any help that anyone would give me!

And that uh joo makes it all worth while...

Jenn,

Congratulations on the new little one growing inside of you! I'm finally back to blogging after months off!

Nice to catch up on your blog, and read the good news :-)

Oh man, can I relate to a lot of those. Yes, I found that during my second pregnancy, my hormones and emotions were out of control. And if you think that Caleb is clingy now, just wait until you're holding that brand-new baby. Hang in there, I'm thinking of you. And if you need to talk or vent, feel free to send me an email...

It sounds like you're doing some better. You're keeping a sense of humor, and that's an indicator that you will live after all! :-)

I loved this list. I have missed you so much, Jenn. And I was thinking, if open land is what you want, then that's even more reason for you to come on up here to the Far North and visit us. Open land we certainly have!

May the Lord bless you, my dear friend.
Always in Him,
Lisa

Hope hubby gets home soon to help out with that adorable toddler. Don't worry about what you look like, just grow a healthy baby.

Jenn-
Take each day one day at a time and (as you are all ready doing)find the little blessings. God has blessed Caleb and the newest little one with wonderful people to be their parents. His is entrusting you to love them while they are on earth and teach them about HIM! Enjoy each moment no matter what it holds! We love you!

Yep there is just somethings your body goes through, through the second pregnancy that it doesn't during your first. For me I filled out faster, took longer to lose the weight, and stretch marks are more evident. But hey, they are badged of honor!!

No two preg are the same, that is for sure.
