Those Silly Sisters Book Giveaway
I have a friend from college, Erica Stidham, who has recently published a children's book called Those Silly Sisters: Swimming in the Rain.
Here's the book description:
Katie and Claire absolutely love adventures. But even more than adventures, they adore being silly. Thankfully for them, their Mommy loves that too! In their first adventure, Katie and Claire wake up excited for one of Mommy's special "promise days". Unfortunately, they quickly discover that a cloudy, rainy day has put a stop to their plans.
Luckily, Katie quickly thinks of a way to turn the day into one of their most memorable ever! Be sure to join the silly sisters as they embark on many more amazing adventures!
I'm so excited for her that I want to give one of you a copy of her book.
Leave a comment on this post telling me a favorite memory from your childhood. I'll use the Random Number Generator to choose a winner on Thursday, my birthday. Open to anyone...I'll pick up the shipping if a non-US resident wins (the books are shipped from Texas).
And if you don't win, you should definitely pick up a copy of the book for your daughter, granddaughter, niece, sister, or friend!

I just recently found your blog, and I’m loving it. Your boys are precious! I’d love to check out your friend’s new book. It sounds fun!
I have so many great childhood memories that it is difficult to pick just one. The one that comes to mind right now is when we got our puppy. I was in the 4th grade, and I had wanted a dog for as long as I can remember. We drove the mini van out to meet the breeder, and we got to pick up our precious puppy. She was the runt of the litter and so tiny! She slept in my lap all the way home, and I was so happy to have her.
Happy early birthday!
Thank so much! You are such a blessing!
I love the title of this book since I have sisters and it made me think of all the fun silly things I used to do with them.
Amanda and I used to set up "mazes" for each other. One of us would be blindfolded and would be led through a maze of strange things we had to touch and taste. Amanda got mad at me one time because I made her eat mustard with raisins.
The book sounds awesome!!! Sounds like a good gift for some sweet little nieces who have sisters!
Jennifer, you are such a great friend and God's special gift to all who know you. How special of you to premier your friend's book.
One of my very first memories of sister-hood is when my youngest sister Michaelle was born. We are almost 7 years apart. I remember she came home from the hospital first as my mother had to stay for a week from exhaustion. (She had just moved us from TX to NY with 3 small children; [my older brother who was 10 years old, my sister 13 months younger and me] as Dad was in Viet Nam.) Our grandmother and uncle (mother’s brother) came to stay with us. I couldn't wait to feed my baby sister! She completely over filled my lap at 7 lbs! I became my mother's 'little' helper and enjoyed dressing, feeding and bathing my baby sister. We are still very close and great friends today.
Thanks for the opportunity to share. Love you dearly! ~lyn~
I am so excited about Erica's book and glad to find your blog, too. Happy Birthday to you!
I have a lot of special childhood memories of fun family times, just being at home together, vacations, water skiing and picnics at the lake, Dad/Daughter breakfasts.
When I was 10 and my brother was 8, my parents told us that Mom would be having a baby. I spent the night in a twin bed in my brother's room that night, and we sang, "He's got our SOB (sister or brother) in His hands." My parents came in to hear what we were singing. I don't remember how they told us not to sing SOB, but they did, so we changed it to BOS!
