Holiness

"How little people know who think that holiness is dull. ...When one meets the real thing, it's irresistible." ~C.S. Lewis

Oh, Lord, I desire to be more holy. May I never think that holiness is dull, but that becoming more like you is irresistible!

Me, too.
I love the quote--what book did it come from?

"After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people, and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: 'Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.'" (Rev.7:9-10)

"Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: 'Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.'" (Rev.4:8)

Sure doesn't sound boring to me!!!

JB, I'm not sure which Lewis book it came from. I got it from Jan Karon's book Patches of Godlight (Father Tim's Favorite Quotes).

wow, that's funny, I clicked on the comment button to post a verse that came to mind to see that my lovely wife had already done so.. Hi J, it's my day off today while L has to sub. We prayed this prayer this morning:
"But whatever was to my profit I now consider loss for the sake of Christ. What is more, I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ- the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith. I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in hi sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead." Phillipians 3: 7-11
