A quick thought

I'll post later on my continued study of Beth Moore's Jesus, The One and Only. It's incredible so far.

But, just a quick thought from what I studied earlier. Mary's song in Luke 1 and Hannah's prayer in 1 Samuel 2 are quite similar. Both were praising God and rejoicing in the blessing of their children (present or soon-to-be). I had never connected these two women before, and it was interesting to me. I have admired Hannah for some time, and if we had a girl that would have been her name (and probably still will if we ever have a girl), and I love the idea of looking at these two women side by side. Both had incredible faith in God, in His Word, and in His promises. What incredible examples they are.

And, now a prayer from Stormie Omartian's A Book of Prayer...

"Lord, increase my faith. Teach me how to walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Give me stregnth to stand strong on Your promises and believe Your every word. I know that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17). Make my faith increase every time I hear or read Your Word. Increase my faith so that I can pray in power. Help me to believe for Your promises to be fulfilled in me. I pray that the genuineness of my faith...will be glorifying to You, Lord.
If you have faith like a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you." -Matthew 17:20"

"For nothing is impossible with God." ~Luke 1:37 PRAISE HIM!!!

Great post! I'd never put the two of them together either, but it's amazing to think that the God who looked down and had compassion on Hannah is the same God who sent His only Son to be born of the virgin Mary, a young girl who probably wasn't anything important in the eyes of this world. And you know what? He's the same God who is with us today. And that's something worth putting our faith in!!

I wonder how we would live every day if we truly, truly trusted the promises of God? I know I have a long way to go in my walk to get there, that's for sure.

By the way, I added you to my blogroll. I have been falling down on the job recently keeping my site up to date, but I at least wanted to get that part done! Have a great weekend!
