Zechariah's News

Jesus, The One and Only Day One:

"The an angel of the Lord appeared to [Zechariah], standing at the right side of the altar of incense. When Zechariah saw him, he was startled and was gripped with fear. But the angel said to him: "Do not be afraid, Zechariah; your prayer has been heard. Your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you are to give him the name John. He will be a joy and delight to you, and many will rejoice because of his birth, for he will be great in the sight of the Lord. He is never to take wine or other fermented drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit even from birth. Many of the people of Israel will he bring back to the Lord their God. And he will go on before the Lord, in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous--to make ready a people prepared for the Lord." ~Luke 1:11-17

Can you imagine what it would be like to know these things about your child before they are even conceived? We pray all the time that Caleb will grow up to be strong in his faith, and that we, as his parents, will be able to guide him to God. How incredible it would be to know that your child would "be great in the sight of the Lord" and "turn the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the righteous." What a blessing for Elizabeth and Zechariah to know so much about their coming son!

What a great God we serve!

Sounds like you are getting a lot out of this study already. Beth Moore is awesome! I wrote a song recently called, "He Knows My Name." We aren't just one of the millions down here on earth to Jesus. He knows each of us individually, and He has a plan for each of us if only we follow His will. That's one of the things that is so awesome to me about being a Christian. It's personal to each and every believer. Thanks for the reminder!!
BTW I added you as a link on my blogs!!
