Sending Encouragement

Joy over at Joy in the Journey has asked us to send "a real, touchable, keepable, snail mail letter" of encouragement to a friend whose husband will be deployed to Iraq soon. Jennifer (aka Mississippi Girl) will be a single mom while her husband is away and could really use encouragement and lots of prayer during this difficult time. Please go read this post by Joy and consider encouraging a sister in the Lord.

I was praying for Jennifer this morning and asking God what verses I could use to lift her up. This is what came to my mind:

Hear my cry, O God;
listen to my prayer.
From the ends of the earth I call to you,

I call as my heart grows faint;
lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
For you have been my refuge,

a strong tower against the foe.
I long to dwell in your tent forever

and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
~Psalm 61:1-4

Thank you, Lord, that your body of believers reaches around the world.

Nice to see your faith shining through... I'd be interested to chat a little about Christianity and how you see and live it.

Dropping in from Mary's... drop me a quick email if you'd like to banter a bit about faith, religion and such.

Blessings!
