Works for Me Wednesday 3

My tip for "Works for Me Wednesday" is how I organize my silverware in the dishwasher. I put all the small forks in one section, small spoons in another, knives in one, big forks in another, and so on. When I unload the dishwasher, it saves a lot of time sorting silverware...each section of silverware I pull out of the dishwasher has its own section in the silverware drawer organizer. (This doesn't always work as efficiently if I've cooked several things that day and have lots of "odds and ends," but it still saves time by sorting somewhat-like things together.) Works for me!

Disclaimer: You might get the idea that I am super-organized. This is not the case. I have very few things that "work for me" and most of them I didn't not think up on my own--this one included! I am perfectly okay, however, stealing other people's organizational tips and trying to apply them to my semi-organized life! :-) Thanks to my friend Rhonda at church for this one...

Great idea. My DP loads our dishwasher, and he has trained ME to do it this way!

Great idea! (I've been known to steal organizational ideas, too - you have to do what works!) :)

We sometimes do this, but with the kids helping me now, I am just happy to get them in the washer! It is a great time saver, so we will teach them this one too.

I really like this one. I'm going to try it next dishwasher wash. I have also heard it's a good idea to alternate spoons right side up or upside down so they don't 'nest' against each other.

OMG I can't believe I never thought of this LOL

This is brilliant, thank you SO much....I was just about to start a load of laundry too, now I am going in there to reorganize the silverware :)

Great tip :)

Great idea! Now if my little guy didn't rearrange my silverware constantly, we'd be all set ;).

That is a good idea! I'm not usually on dish duty, but I'll remember this when I am!

You know, sometimes it's the simple things that really work well for us! I have another silverware-related tip. When I just cannot face loading/unloading the dishwasher, I start with the silverware and tell myself that's all I have to do! Then, when I'm finished with that, it's easy to just keep going! It seems a little cheesy, but when I struggled with depression and had a hard time doing very simple every day tasks, this was very helpful!

Love this idea. This will help so much because my kids help me unload our dishwasher.
