THE Name

We finally decided on the baby's name.

Levi

I was actually kind of surprised none of you suggested it when I asked for suggestions. It fits all the criteria (one that can't be shortened, means something significant, is not trendy, isn't the name of someone either of us has bad memories of, and it's a Biblical name).

And, no, we don't have a middle name yet. :-)

Whooo hooo! I LOVE it! I can't wait to hear when you decide on a middle name too. Beautiful!

I like that name! I'm so excited for you that you have one all picked out. Now to find a middle name. MisterMan's middle name is the name of both WonderMan and I's grandfathers - how lucky that they shared the same name - it made it easy for us to pick a middle name. :) Good luck on part 2 of the naming process. How are you feeling these days (aside from being OVER the toddler antics? And don't I hear ya.)

Beautiful name. Just make sure the middle name isn't Strauss or Gene ;D

Love the name! I think it sounds GREAT with Caleb.... but my cousin has 6 kids (3 boys and 3 girls), two of which are named Levi and Caleb, so I think I'm accustomed to hearing them together. But still, they sound good! Both are such solid names. It's funny you want ones that can't be shortened... I am the opposite. I love names that CAN be shortened if I feel like it, but I would still totally call my kid by both... I would never just resort to the shortened version only.

So since I think about kid names so much, want to know my faves? Just for fun? :) For girls, I LOVE Delaney and Isabel (or Laney and Izzy). Those have been picked out in my head since high school and I'm still not tired of them! And then for boys I like Joshua and Declan (though my mental boys' list is always WAY shorter than the girls)... Declan can't really be shortened, but it means "man of prayer" which I just think is awesome.

Okay, probably more info than you needed, but can you tell I love names?? Can't wait to name some of my own. Oh, and my grandmother is still holding on! She is going on day 6 of no food/drink... the doctor is astounded considering her age! And she's very peaceful which is my biggest prayer.

Levi is a beautiful name and goes well with Caleb if I do say so myself. Very good brother names. I can already hear you yelling, "Caleb let your brother out of the dryer, you promised mommy you'd never do that again" :)

Wonderful name! I was bummed when one of my favorite names "Emma" has become so trendy. Oh well, John & I both survived having common names. ;)
